The traditional elements of the hard-boiled murder mystery are here: homicides, adultery, greed, crooked lawyers, mean cops and even meaner broads. Then, just to make things interesting, some regional spices like faith healing, homophobia, rednecks, county fairs and inter-species wrestling have been added to the recipe.
