Orthorexia nervosa bedeutet zwanghaftes Gesundessen oder auch besessen vom gesunden Essen sein. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, ob "Orthorexia nervosa" eine eigenständige Essstörung ist und somit in die diagnostischen Manuale DSM-IV und ICD-10 aufgenommen werden soll. Dazu wurden in einer empirischen Studie Personen mit unterschiedlichen Orthorexieausprägungen (hoch, mittel, niedrig), unterschiedlichen Ernährungsweisen (Mischkost, spezielle Ernährung) und Männern und Frauen bezüglich ihres Ess- und Gesundheitsverhaltens verglichen.
