Der monoanionische Bisphosphiniminomethanid-Ligand (CH(PPh2NSiMe3)2)- ist in der Organometallchemie der Hauptgruppen- und Übergangsmetalle sowie der Lanthanoide weit verbreitet. Bisphosphiniminomethanid-Zink-Komplexe zeichnen sich durch eine ungewöhnliche Reaktivität des Ligandenrückgrates gegenüber Elektrophilen aus. So erhält man aus der Reaktion von in situ erzeugtem (Zn(BH4)2(THF)2) mit dem Kaliumsalz des Liganden den heteroleptischen Boranat-Komplex ((CH(PPh2NSiMe3)2)(?1-BH3)Zn(BH4)), in welchem ein BH3-Molekül zwischen dem Metallzentrum und dem Brückenkohlenstoffatom des Liganden überkappend koordiniert. Der Komplex lässt sich rationell aus der Reaktion von ((CH(PPh2NSiMe3)2)ZnN(SiMe3)2) mit BH3*THF erhalten, während die Reaktion von ((CH(PPh2NSiMe3)2)ZnMe) mit BH3*THF den Komplex ((CH(PPh2NSiMe3)2)(?1-BH3)ZnMe) liefert. Die Bindungsverhältnisse in den Bisphosphiniminomethanid-Zink-Komplexen wurden zudem anhand von quantenchemischen Rechnungen auf DFT-Niveau untersucht. Der heteroleptische Komplex ((CH(PPh2NSiMe3)2)ZnPh) ist aus der Reaktion des Neutralliganden mit den homoleptischen Zinkorganyl ZnPh2 zugänglich. Die Reaktion mit Heterokumulenen ((p-Tolyl-N=)2C, Ph2C=C=O) führt zu einer Addition an das Ligandenrückgrat anstelle der erwarteten Insertion in die Zn-Ph-Bindung.
