In the cities of developing countries, there is a rapid rate of urbanization due to natural increase, migration and cities boundary expansions that results in scarcity of land, this situation is aggravated by globalization. In urban Ethiopia land is legally owned by the public. However, different kinds of tenure modalities existed in cities, due to historical and political reasons.
