Hans Scharoun ist einer der bedeutendsten deutschen Architekten des 20. Sein Werk reicht von Einfamilienhäusern und Wohnsiedlungen bis zur deutschen Botschaft in Brasilien und zu urbanen Ikonen wie der Philharmonie in Berlin. Das Buch - in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Baukunstarchiv der Akademie der Künste, Berlin, entstanden - dokumentiert in Text und Bild sämtliche bislang bekannten realisierten Bauten Scharouns, erstmals auch sein Frühwerk in Ostpreußen. Durch die eigens aufgenommen Fotografien Carsten Krohns sowie historische Fotos und Pläne aus dem Hans-Scharoun-Archiv entsteht ein neuer Blick auf diese expressiv-organische Architektur.
