Diese Beziehung drückt der Betafaktor aus, der in der Praxis als Indikator für die erwartete Rendite einer Aktie fungiert. Ein hohes Risiko, ausgedrückt durch einen hohen Beta-Faktor, lässt eine hohe Rendite erwarten und umgekehrt. Ob und inwiefern ein solches Gleichgewichtsmodell wie das CAPM auch in der Praxis seine Gültigkeit behält, ist Gegenstand dieser Untersuchung.
