In dieser Arbeit wurden die Struktur und die Eigenschaften ultradünner, geordneter CeO2-Filme, welche durch Aufdampfen von metallischem Cer bei niedrigem Sauerstoffpartialdruck auf Cu(111)-Einkristall-Oberflächen unter Ultrahochvakuum-Bedingungen aufgebracht wurden, untersucht. Ein solches System könnte als Modellsystem in der heterogenen Katalyse dienen. Wir bestimmten den Wachstumsmechanismus von Ceroxid auf Cu(111) mit der Absicht, dass CeO2-Filme das Kupfersubstrat vollständig bedecken.
