Fre quently I hear comments on the readiness and the efficiency with which they take hold Of tasks that are new to them. They do not have to learn from the beginning the technique of pastoral work. This is at once. A tribute to the quality of the men admitted to the School Of Religion and to the well-balanced combination Of the practical with the theoretical in their training here. I am sure the program Of summer training, the clinical work that is being carried on so successfully from year to year with the cooperation Of the Duke Foundation, has contributed in no small measure to this result. Along with appreciation Of the work the School Of Religion graduates are doing in their chosen vocation, I am glad to make grateful recognition Of their continuing interest in, and devotion to, the institution and its alumni causes.
