Das Nationalgetränk in Pakistan ist der Chai (Tee). Er wird mit Milch und verschiedenen Gewürzen zubereitet. Im westlichen Pakistan essen die Einheimischen sehr scharf, sonst eher mild. Da die Mehrheit der Pakistanis Moslems sind wird kein Schweinefleisch gegessen. Geflügel-, Lamm-, Hammel- und Rindfleisch werden gerne am Spieß gegrillt. Es gibt Currys aus Gemüse und den beliebten "Dal" aus Hülsenfrüchten. Dazu wird Naan gereicht, ein Fladenbrot aus Hefeteig, in Stücke gebrochen wird es als Besteckersatz verwendet. Die pakistanische Küche kennt auch süße Desserts wie Reispudding (Kheer).
