The study of Christian-antique sarcophagi, decorated with reliefs, is a major task of Early Christian and Byzantine Archaeology. This fourth volume of the "Repertorium der christlich-antiken Sarkophage" by the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) documents sarcophagi from the geographical area of the province Hispania and Mauretania Tingitana in Late Antiquity - present Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The catalog with descriptions and accompanying plates is supplemented by a commentary, which includes the discussion of the objects according to their provenance, workshop-groups and considers the cultural contacts between Hispania and the neighboring provinces to provide the basis for a further discussion.
