In a very aggressive, fast-paced environment,§competition significantly moderates behavior and§individuals invest more time and effort into their§work in order to maintain the existing pace set by§others. Many factors involved with this increased§burden cause a number of negative consequences, one§of which is stress. Occupational stress is a very§significant issue which negatively affects the§individual, the family of that individual, and the§employing organization§§This study investigated the possible relationships§among gender, job satisfaction, organizational§commitment, and occupational stress levels. Possible§interactions with gender and job satisfaction as well§as gender and organizational commitment on§occupational stress were also explored. Participants§included employees from three organizations: an§orthopedic clinic, social service office, and organ§and tissue donation company.
