Die vorliegende Arbeit - eingegliedert in ein Projekt des Max-Planck-Institutes für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht zu Rechtswirklichkeit und Effizienz verdeckter Ermittlungsmaßnahmen - befasst sich mit der Rechtspraxis der Überwachung und hat dabei insbesondere die Handhabung des Richtervorbehaltes, die Umsetzung der Benachrichtigungspflicht nach § 101 StPO und den enumerativen Straftatenkatalog im Blick. Der empirische Teil der Arbeit basiert auf der Analyse von Strafverfahrensakten, einer schriftlichen Befragung von Praktikern aus Polizei, Justiz und Strafverteidigung und mündlichen Experteninterviews.
