Latin American theology is associated with liberation, basic Christian communities, primacy of praxis and option for the poor. The present volume shows that Latin American theologians added new themes to the previous ones: religious pluralism, inter-religious dialogue and pluralistic re-reading of Christianity. It is the fruit of a programme of the Theological Commission of the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians (EATWOT) in Latin America, to work out a liberating theology of religions. "Committed and politicized by God and by God's poor, this book tries to be the echo and the voice of a fruitful marriage that is beginning to be celebrated between theology of religious pluralism and liberation theology . This "married" theology, is the appropriate and urgent theology of the Third World, the theology of a world that is globalized both for evil and for good, the theology of a living and life-giving God and of our unique, lost and saved humanity." Pedro Casadáliga Former bishop of São Félix do Araguiaia, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
